Feeling Overwhelmed? Let's Talk!

Hey there, fellow human! Let’s talk about something we all go through, feeling overwhelmed. It creeps up on you when you’re waiting for that big break, stressing over exam results, or, in my case, waiting for recruiters to email you back (spoiler alert: they ghosted me for a bit).
Let me share my story real quick—I promise it has a bright side. My name is Darlene, by the way! I graduated with a BSc in Psychology in December 2024, super eager to start my career. Fast forward to an unpaid internship at an incredible mental health institution… and wow, was it a rollercoaster. It wasn’t all sunshine, but I kept going.
After the internship ended, I began my job search in February 2025. It’s mid-March now, and while I’m still job hunting, there have been moments where comparison and overthinking got the best of me. Watching my classmates land amazing roles was tough I’ll admit, I didn’t want to stay home and watch Netflix every day! I’m itching for financial independence and to make my mark, but guess what? I’m still standing.
The Bright Side 🌟 Even in the whirlwind of job applications and waiting games, I’ve learned so much:
The importance of being in a workplace with a great culture and room for growth.
The value of coworkers who lift you up (instead of, you know, discussing interns behind their backs).
The resilience to keep
going, even when it feels tough.
Here’s the fun part: I believe this is my year. 2025 is the year I’ll land that dream job at a healthy, supportive workplace. Call me an optimist, but hey, if you don’t dream big, what’s the point?
Reminder to You (and Me): Feeling overwhelmed is normal. It doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you’re growing. Life will throw challenges at us, but the trick is not to lose ourselves in the storm. Focus on the lessons, hold onto the positives, and know that brighter days are ahead.
That’s exactly what I’m doing. And trust me, I’ll be back with good news soon.
Cheering for you always, Dr. Dary💕
